Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

Undoubtedly, our service as an added value, as well as our sales staff with extensive technical knowledge and vocation for photography.

Interview to the commerce

What is the history of your commerce?

Our story began in 1972, when Paco Casanova, who already had a long career in the sector, opened the first shop in Carrer Pelai in Barcelona. That shop, with only five employees, soon became popular among photographers, especially for buying and selling second-hand items. In order to provide a better service to customers in other areas, in 2004 we opened a shop in Madrid and in 2009 we went a step further with the opening of the new shop in Ronda Universitat, in the centre of Barcelona, which with more than 600 square metres, is considered by many to be the best photo and video shop in Europe. Our aim is to make photographers and videographers of all levels feel that CasanovaFoto is their photography and video centre, offering the widest range of products, from the simplest accessory to the set-up of a professional photography studio.
Professional and passionate about photography and video, the best terms to define us. A team of more than 50 people who spend the day between cameras, lenses, flashes, to always offer you the best service, the latest products and the best information.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

It has forced us to change our approach to customer service (tools, internal processes, forms of communication...), and to focus on our online service in order to continue providing 100% of our services without our customers noticing the difference of not being on the other side of the counter.

What services and products does your business provide?

Sale and rental of photographic and videographic material, new and second hand, as well as training, technical service, insurance...and a wide range of services adapted to each client.

What other NGOs do you collaborate with?

We work with social organisations, bringing the value of photography to their projects. One of them is the Setba Foundation, which is dedicated to building spaces for social inclusion through culture.
