What is the history of your commerce?

In more than 70 years of business experience we have offered the public our services and our range of high quality cutlery. In 1947 an establishment called "La Caperucita" was founded, which a few years later would become the first Cuchillería Simón. Founded in Albacete, years later, 2 new establishments were opened in Madrid. At present, the brothers Juan Carlos Simón and Jose Luis Simón have been working in this new establishment since 2005, expanding it in terms of high quality kitchenware, Spanish and Japanese kitchen knives and making an effort to consolidate the German and English firms in mens grooming products in shaving razors, brushes and soaps for classic shaving, hair brushes, clothes and grooming for both men and women, the best articles for manicure and pedicure, multi-purpose tools such as Leatherman pliers, one of the widest assortments of Victorinox articles available in Spain and dedicating a space to the best collectors knives from Spanish craftsmen such as Julián Galván Hellín and the Rodriguez Nuño brothers, both from Santa Cruz de Mudela, a small town in Ciudad Real with a long tradition in the manufacture of classic Spanish knives.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

As we have a very diversified range of cutlery articles and a sharpening and repair workshop, I think we have withstood better the reopening of the activity after the first state of alarm and total confinement decreed by the government last March 2020. It has affected us negatively, with a loss in turnover of more than 30%, as we are also partly dependent on the tourist sector.
