Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

From the advice and guidance we give to our customers, as we all cook and know the utensils we sell.
From having a wide range of specialised products with a selection of products designed for those who want to use them occasionally and also for those who want professional quality utensils.

What is the history of your commerce?

Founded in 1974 by four partners including Clara-María Gonzalez de Amezúa, twice winner of the National Gastronomy Award and winner of the Silver Spoon award from the James Beard Foundation in New York (USA).
Inspired by Julia Child and the English Elisabeth David, Clara-María decided to open in Spain a concept that she had discovered in the United States and that did not exist here, a kitchenware shop with a space dedicated to cooking courses. One generation later, it is still in the family, managed on a day-to-day basis by María, Clara-Marías daughter.

What is your professional experience?

I worked in the fund management and financial sector before embarking on this project that I had seen born with a lot of enthusiasm and effort from my mother.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

We have closed our doors, stopping our activity both in retail and most of our cooking courses for the spring/summer 2020 season. We have continued to be active in online sales and social media, offering recipes on the blog and videos on social media to support our customers.

What services and products does your business provide?

Sale of kitchen utensils, cooking courses, team-buildings and events around the kitchen.

In addition to being suppliers of kitchenware, our aim is to teach through culinary demonstrations and workshops how to cook with your hands, with your eyes and with your palate and to open up a wide horizon with our activities on this form of culture, which is cooking. For this, we have an excellent team of national and international teachers. We do not believe that one size does not fit all, which is why we seek the collaboration of professionals and amateurs with a deep knowledge of their speciality.  The kitchen utensils for sale are tested at the cooking school, so we can fully vouch for their quality, durability and service.
