When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

Of having created a very special corner where you can buy quality spices and teas and where you can exchange recipes, experiences and trips. It is a welcoming, multicultural place where aromas and music pleasantly accompany your shopping.

What is the history of your commerce?

In 2009, some of the markets where spices could be bought in bulk had been lost or the supply was very small. I felt that there was a need for a specialised shop, with enough references to prepare dishes from all over the world.
The shop is about to celebrate its 15th anniversary and has grown from 85 references to almost 400 in spices and salts alone. To this must be added the more than 100 references of teas and all the associated products (sauces, accessories, etc.).

What is your professional experience?

I come from a background of teaching foreign languages but my parents worked in commerce all my life and for various reasons I decided to go into the spice and tea trade. I also give lectures and cooking classes where I teach how to use spices.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

The first two weeks were particularly hard. Not being a staple food shop I had to close but little by little some customers ordered from me through the online shop. However, it did not equate to having the shop open and my family had to help me to keep going.

What services and products does your business provide?

My shop mainly sells a wide range of quality spices and teas. We also offer advice when purchasing our products. We make the attention as personalised as possible and we are interested in the tastes, preferences, intolerances and everything that the customer wants to share with us. We advise on how to make a gift, prepare a particular recipe, etc.
