When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

I feel very proud to have become the childrens shoe shop of Malasaña, to be a neighbourhood shop, but what I am most proud of is the relationship I have created with the customers, the comments I have received these days have been a shot of energy.

What is the history of your commerce?

Leopótamo was born with the first steps of Rita, my eldest daughter, I had trouble finding beautiful and suitable shoes for that moment and I thought that if it happened to me, the same thing would happen to other families, so soon after I started to create an online shop and to participate in small markets, then I shared a space with Juguetería La Luciérnaga and finally, almost 3 years ago, I decided to open the shop in Malasaña.

What is your professional experience?

When I finished my studies I started working in an advertising production company and from there I jumped to the world of training, where I worked until I decided to open the shop.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

Well, at the beginning it was very hard, I was very scared and anxious.
My sector is very seasonal, I have two big sales peaks which are April/May (with the arrival of the heat) and October/November (with the arrival of the cold), the rest of the months lets say I subsist, so this caught me at the worst of times: dragging the worst months of sales which are January and February and with the entire summer collection in the shop ready to sell and, of course, pay and with no possibility of return.
But well, the truth is that I cant complain: I looked for financing, negotiated payments and I have had a very good reception. The fact that the big stores have opened after me has also helped me a lot: feet grow and cant wait.
