OLEOTECA ALMA DE AOVE
Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

My greatest pride is to have managed to create a beautiful space in which to immerse oneself in the world of EVOO with all the senses, each of the extraordinary oils that I offer to taste and their producers, people with history and passion and finally, the satisfaction that our customers transmit to us when they share our experience.

What is the history of your commerce?

I come from an olive-growing family and I love this world.
In 2019 I was living in Brussels and I decided that I had to do something to change the culture and education of the national and international consumer about Spanish Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I started to offer recreational tastings to teach how to enjoy and use our delicious varieties of AOVES.
I returned to Spain and looking for new ways, I found a beautiful place in one of the most beautiful streets of Madrid and, even with many difficulties and risks, in March 2021 I managed to open the doors of my beautiful Oleoteca.

What is your professional experience?

My working life has been spent in the insurance world in different departments, from sales, customer service to senior management.
I always knew that it was eventual, a bridge to something else, and now I feel that I have found my place, where I expected to arrive.
My career has nothing to do with my current sector, but thanks to this professional stage I have acquired the necessary experience and tools to set up this personal project.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

We opened the Oleoteca in March 2021 although it was planned for December 2020.
It was a time of uncertainty, restrictions and fears, although everything seemed to be improving.
The data on infections went up, the refurbishment team was infected and then, when in January it seemed that we were ready to open, Filomena came and the furniture did not arrive.
In March we finally managed to open but the capacity, the fact that we were in a restricted health area and the fear of being confined again meant that the start was very limited and slow.

What services and products does your business provide?

We like to feel that we are more than just a shop, we are an Oleoteca, a space for spreading the culture of Spanish EVOO.
Our aim is to teach our customers to value and enjoy this wonderful product and to contribute day by day so that more and more people know how to use it in their cooking and make it an essential part of their diet.
In our Oleoteca, personalised attention is our main priority. We offer product tasting without obligation and we want our customers to experience the pleasure of enjoying these treasures and their world through tastings, workshops and Oleotourism routes.
A complete immersion at the customer's request.
