When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

One of the things we are most proud of is our age, the quality-price ratio of our products (we take great care with the price) and above all the relationship with our local customers, many of whom are already friends. Being able to talk to them and recommend a wine, for example, and have them come back to thank you because they loved it. That is what makes you feel proud.

What is the history of your commerce?

Our shop was opened by our father Ismael in 1962. Wine, oil and liqueurs were sold in bulk. In the 1980s, in addition to selling to private individuals, we also distributed liquors to bars and pubs in the area. And we have continued with the business, adapting to the changing times, specialising in wines and offering a product that reaches all types of customers, from those who are looking for a wine for every day and therefore looking for the best value for money, to the more specialised customer who is looking for more select products.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

We have been very much affected as we work with a large percentage of restaurants and the hotel and catering industry in general, in addition to the private public. We have already lost several long-standing customers who have closed their businesses definitively due to COVID. And right now the level of business with the hotel and catering business is at 10%, so we are suffering a 90% reduction.

What services and products does your business provide?

We have a wide variety and careful selection of national and international wines. We also have a wide range of liquors and a very selected gourmet products section. And if we dont have something we can find it for you without obligation. We serve at home in the area of Barrio de las Letras at no additional cost and if it is outside the neighbourhood we have a reliable distribution service.
We also do wine tastings and presentations (suspended for the moment by the COVID).
As far as catering is concerned, we offer a service of proximity and immediate service, with the possibility of selling by the unit, which makes it easier for the restaurant or bar to have a wide range of wines without having to buy large quantities.
