When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

Ensuring the future of a business that has been around for several decades and is very important in the Madrid market and the Pacífico neighbourhood. Preserving a traditional craft that is disappearing.

What is the history of your commerce?

This tailor's shop was founded over 35 years ago by two tailors who had previously worked in a department store. When they retired, they happened to meet the current tailor, Leopoldo. He had been a banker in London for 10 years and changed course to become an apprentice tailor. At that point, he was already an established tailor and was looking for an opportunity to start his own business. Leopoldo worked with them for a few months and finally acquired the business to continue it in 2020. He has taken the business to social media and consolidated the tailor's shop.

What is your professional experience?

Leopoldo worked as a banker in London for 10 years.
He then became an apprentice tailor with his own tailor in Madrid, combining this with a home-based tailoring business.
Since 2020, he has been the tailor and owner of Sastrería Boldrini.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

Teleworking has drastically reduced the daily use of suits and ties for work.
We are encouraging customers to wear sports jackets every day, achieving a semi-formal yet elegant look.
In addition, we are focusing heavily on formal and party wear (morning coats and tuxedos).
