When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

Turuletras is a childrens bookshop located in a neighbourhood in the south of Madrid, Ciudad de los Ángeles in the district of Villaverde.
The bookshop is a meeting place for families who want their children to grow up surrounded by books and culture. A place to enjoy and discover reading from an early age.

What is the history of your commerce?

Turuletras was born in October 2016. The previous crisis gave me the push I needed to fulfil my dream. Since I was a child I had wanted to be a bookseller and my work experience had led me to know wonderful childrens bookshops, so the crisis, the need to reconcile family life and the powerful and unconditional support of my husband meant that one day, almost without realising it, I found myself in Turuletras.

What is your professional experience?

My background is in journalism and before owning the bookshop my career had been linked to editorial communication.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

COVID meant the total closure of the bookshop and now we are trying to be the same again.

What services and products does your business provide?

We have a wide range of childrens and young adult books, as well as an adult corner to serve the whole neighbourhood. We also work quickly to order and are happy to recommend them to our readers.
