When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

Small shop in the historic centre of Vicálvaro with decorative and gift items and a wide selection of own handicrafts in polymer clay, scrapbooking and mix media.

What is the history of your commerce?

La Troje was created by a Vicalvareña in 1998 and was located in the neighbourhood of Hortaleza. Later, in order to reconcile family life, she took the business to the Vicálvaro neighbourhood, and since 2004 its doors have been open to the locals.

What is your professional experience?

I studied Advertising and PR and I have worked in the campaigns and promotions that have been applied to the shop, as I have been working in La Troje for more than 20 years.
With the arrival of the crisis in 2008 I took over the shop full time, and thats when I started my career in polymer clay crafts applied to jewellery and accessories. Today it is one of the priorities in the shop.
Part of the craft workshop is located in the shop itself, and you can see me making pieces through the shop window.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

The shop was already suffering before the pandemic, but these months have been very, very difficult. We are surviving thanks to the fact that the shop belongs to my parents and at least we dont have to pay rent, otherwise it would have been impossible to bear.
