Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

From the specialisation and training of the Tarín Maletas team! It is as diverse and has as much quality as the selection of brands that we make with a lot of effort to offer the best to the neighbours of Madrid and our visitors.

What is the history of your commerce?

Tarín Maletas opened its doors in 1973, in the heart of Madrid, next to Gran Vía, since then 3 generations have been in charge of this local but at the same time international shop, being in these last 10 years in which the personal and digital transformation has been more important, not to mention that since the pandemic situation we opened a second business, online, which serves with the same professionalism and quality as the face-to-face.

What is your professional experience?

I am a quantity surveyor by training, I was dedicated to construction and rehabilitation, in 2014 I joined the Tarín Maletas family business project.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

In our case we lived in a very important part of the tourist area in the centre of Madrid, so in terms of sales the blow has been very strong. And on the other hand, you can imagine that selling suitcases when you can't travel... makes the situation even more complex.
But we are hopeful that we will be able to continue and endure this difficult time, always with a smile on our faces!

What services and products does your business provide?

In addition to the retail sale of suitcases and accessories, we have a specialised luggage WORKSHOP service, which attends to the needs of those who want to repair their suitcase so that it stays with them for a long time. We also work with airlines in the repair or replacement of damaged luggage, also issuing a certificate of irreparability for passengers.
