Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

Lalabeyou is not only a School and an Exhibition Gallery of contemporary jewellery.
It is a space for exchanging ideas, sharing projects and dreams and expanding knowledge about different jewellery techniques in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Interview to the commerce

What is the history of your commerce?

Lalabeyou opened in the Chueca neighbourhood in January 2012. Since then we have been dedicated to the training of artistic jewellery courses and the exhibition and sale of contemporary signature jewellery.
Every year we try to surprise our customers with new exhibitions, collaborating with several galleries and jewellery curators of international stature.
I started out as a part-time teacher and now we are a team of 4 teachers, who come from all fields, paper restoration, sculpture, photography, making a fantastic team.

What is your professional experience?

I am an architect since 2003, jeweller since 2010 and gemologist since 2015.
I have worked for more than 10 years in different architecture studios between Madrid and Barcelona.
It was there that I began to discover the designer jewellery so unknown in the capital, which absolutely conquered me.
That love and passion is what we want to transmit every day to our students.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

As a training academy or non-regulated educational centre, we have practically closed for 6 months, from March to August, with the exception of a few small remedial classes between June and July.

On the other hand, we have taken advantage of the COVID hiatus to implement through our website a project we have been working on for some time, which are the online jewellery courses.

What services and products does your business provide?

We offer courses in metal, welding, wax modelling for foundry, porcelain for jewellery, methacrylate, silicone and resin moulds, patinas on metal, preparation of settings, engraving, pigments and many more.

We also sell designer jewellery from different collaborating artists made in metal, porcelain, textile, methacrylate...etc.
