Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

What we most like to talk about is the history of each of the artisans that we find all over Spain. Each one of them contains the know-how of generations of craftsmen. They are the last hands that pass on to us works that would otherwise be lost.

What is the history of your commerce?

Hijo de Epigmenio was born from my personal tastes and discoveries during my travels in Spain. I have always been fascinated by all kinds of craftsmanship and the wonderful, imperfect finish it has. Epigmenio was my father. Although he was not a craftsman, he knew how to work all kinds of materials such as wood and metal. His spirit is present in the name of the shop and more than that in the spirit of the objects we have.

What is your professional experience?

I have always worked as a commercial interior designer for fashion companies. Finally I decided to take the step to something much more personal. So I decided to create Hijo de Epigmenio with everything I already had in front of me.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

Fortunately we have a clientele that has returned after the confinement and that above all appreciates the type of objects we sell. After reopening we noticed the lack of the tourist who was a very important customer in the shop. Even so, we have had a good response from our local customers.

What services and products does your business provide?

We offer quality Spanish crafts that will steal your heart. We connect traditional Spanish artisans with the public in the big city of Madrid. Everything we sell has a story behind it of craftsmanship and popular wisdom.
