Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

We are very proud to have become a reference in the world of gifts. We have been improving little by little for more than 10 years and what we are most proud of is that we have created a fun space, people have a great time when they come to our shop to look for gifts, it is as if they were going back to their childhood.

What is the history of your commerce?

Juan Sebastián and Emilio Alarcón are the founders of Curiosite.es, the online shop they opened on 21 September 2008, but their passion for the art of giving dates back to 6 January a lot of years ago, when the Three Wise Men brought them the Famobil Clicks pirate ship! Many people called to ask if we had a physical shop, and we decided to open it on the 1st of September 2010 in the Malasaña neighbourhood of Madrid, at Corredera Alta de San Pablo, 28. It was created as an open space where people can have fun browsing, touching and testing all the products.

What is your professional experience?

I have been focusing on e-commerce and creativity for more than 20 years. It has always been clear to me that I wanted to start my own business. I really appreciate being in charge of my work and making my own decisions, but on the other hand I sometimes miss having less worries and being able to disconnect for a while.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

We have not been among the worst affected because e-commerce has always been part of the core of our business and during the pandemic we have continued to deliver orders throughout Spain.

What services and products does your business provide?

We are an original gift shop. After almost ten years since our opening as a physical shop of original gifts, the spirit of Curiosite remains unchanged: the public not only comes to buy, but also to have a good time, alone or with friends; you can take a selfie, have a laugh, discover the latest trends, riddle the shop assistants with questions...
