Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

Our Jewellery School-Workshop is a creative space where we all contribute something, people from different disciplines participate and that makes the links really interesting.
We have been teaching and sharing our craft with other people for more than 5 years, and what we are most proud of is the atmosphere in the workshop; the manual work, the creativity, the tools and the magic of the materials make our space very special.

What makes your shop unique?
What makes it different is the approach to what we do. We seek to give priority to the creativity of the student and to reinforce the potential that each student may have, motivating them to find their own design style.

What is the history of your commerce?

The space was founded by Gimena Caram and Sandra Pampín and was born as a jewellery school-workshop more than 5 years ago. It is the natural result of the passion and energy that we both feel for design, creative processes and techniques applied to jewellery.

Initially we thought of opening a creative space to work, exchange ideas, share projects and experiment with jewellery techniques, a creative workshop to work on contemporary, artistic and signature jewellery.

After a short time we had a fantastic space to work in and we decided to open it so that other creatives could share their experiences with us. We also started our design and jewellery techniques courses, we invited jewellers from other cities and countries, specialised in different techniques and everything started to work. In a couple of years we already had a calendar with different activities and courses, the reception was very good.

Currently the workshop is a window to experiment, teach, share and enjoy the design of portable pieces.

What is your professional experience?

We are goldsmiths and architects passionate about design, in 2011 we met at the School of Jewellery and Goldsmithing in Madrid, where we began and consolidated our training as jewellers, it was a new professional experience, where the delicate and meticulous work on metal, the practice of modelling in wax and experimentation on new design themes, from utilitarian objects to jewellery, made us discover a new way of expressing ourselves.
The contact with the manufacture, the scale of jewellery and small objects allowed us to find a new and much more personal expression of design that we have been developing ever since.

Each one of us had a different professional activity, it was our interest in technique and design that made us combine ideas and efforts to make this project, we are two people with very different visions of almost everything and that makes the pooling of ideas very inspiring and creative.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

It has affected us like all businesses. We have closed our activity completely for three months, and we have also seen our income reduced.

But it has also motivated us to be creative and to focus on other activities that can be developed in our space, we have worked on a new collection and we dedicate more time to another important part of our work.

What has helped us to keep going is the solidarity and loyalty of our clients, our decision to continue developing safe activities for our students, and the determination to know that although long and complex, everything will be temporary; entrepreneurship is not just ideas, but many hours of work and reflection to drive and RECONDUCE what you initially imagined as a project.
