Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

We are the leading maritime bookshop in Madrid.

Interview to the commerce

What is the history of your commerce?

Robinson Nautical Bookshop was founded more than thirty years ago in Bárbara de Braganza Street, although we have moved to Santo Tomé six years ago.)

We specialise in books and publications on nautical subjects such as navigation charts, naval literature, naval history, merchant navy, military or sports navy, among others.

We are agents of the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy, the SHOM (Service hydrographique et océanographique de la marine) and authorised distributors of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

We can say that our clientele is as wide as the maritime frontiers, divided between Europe, the USA and Latin America.

Interview to the commerce

What is your professional experience?

Although each member of the Robinson team has previously worked in jobs distanced, or not so distanced, from the world of books, we are all united by the sea and this is the result of what this space is today.

Interview to the commerce

How has covid 19 affected your business?

We have seen a reduction in the number of customers, while at the same time presentations and cultural activities both inside and outside the bookshop have suffered. In addition, and due to the same circumstances, we have noticed a reduction in the number of physical sales.

Interview to the commerce

What services and products does your business provide?

Technical books on nautical subjects, literature focused on the sea, naval history from many points of view, nautical charts, route maps, coastal and beach guides, seafaring objects (Just the Sea), clothing focused on the sea, gifts for people who love the sea and sea currents.
