Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

We have managed to make what we had in mind from the beginning when we opened the gallery a reality. Échale Guindas differs from other galleries in the attitude we have towards art. Our gallery is a friendly place, where you can enter and enjoy yourself without feeling self-conscious.

Échale Guindas moves away from the traditional concept of an Art Gallery to become a space that invites you to come in and stay.

We are fortunate to be able to exhibit artists that we love and admire and with whom we have formed a small family.

What is the history of your commerce?

The Échale Guindas gallery was founded in 2016 by María and Laura, sisters from Madrid who are passionate about art and design.

It is a project born from the taste for art and design, the desire to surround themselves with beautiful things and bring them closer to art lovers and those who do not yet know they are.

A gallery to enjoy the works of our national and international artists in a different spirit: pieces of great value but accessible, unique, carefully designed and made with materials that combine traditional techniques with the latest trends.

A space for creation and experimentation, where all techniques and formats have their place.

We join the cultural and design offer in the heart of Chueca, Pelayo District, as a gallery open to everyone, creators and visitors, full of illusion and beautiful things.

What is your professional experience?

Maria comes from the world of Interior Design and Laura is an Art Historian.

We have always been interested in art, we enjoyed it and we shared it together.
The opportunity to create this project came at a time when we both wanted to change the direction of our careers and we threw ourselves into it, convinced that we were going to create something new and incredible and turn our hobby into our way of life.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

Logically, our business has been affected by the situation caused by COVID-19. We have had to close our physical space for more than two months, reinvent ourselves and make changes to our exhibition and activity calendar.

Even so, we have not lost our enthusiasm and desire to work at any time and we have focused more on working the online part and social networks, trying to ensure that everyone could continue to enjoy art from their homes.
