When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

Belén's antique shop is a space focused on decoration, the great passion of its owner.
Here you can find pieces and objects from different periods and styles coexisting in perfect harmony.
We select with care and criteria unique pieces that we look for all over the world, mainly European antiques from the 18th and 19th centuries and design pieces from the 20th century.

What is the history of your commerce?

I opened the antique shop in Madrid 20 years ago when I finished my degree in humanities.
But my passion for this world has been with me since I was a child.
My mother had a very successful antique shop in Gijón and from an early age my sisters and I travelled with my parents all over the world in search of treasures for the antique shop.
This world captivated me from the first moment, as soon we were with some gypsies in Zamora as in an auction in a mansion in the English countryside. A very enriching and human world.

What is your professional experience?

I forged my professional experience as a child. Since I was a child I go shopping with my parents and I learn to restore in my mother's antique shop.
Restoring I learn a lot about woods, periods, styles ....
When I open the shop I focus on my great passion, which is decoration. From the beginning I have been lucky enough to work with and get to know the work of the fantastic decorators we have in Spain, they are without doubt a great inspiration when it comes to selecting pieces.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

I think the confinement made a lot of people turn the house around and want to make it more beautiful.
In that sense it affected me in a positive way.
