When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

The Visor bookshop has been operating in the same spot since 1968. That s more than 50 years, in which we have managed to become a reference point in Spanish culture. There are very few bookshops in Spain that have remained at the forefront for so many years. The name Visor is quickly associated with poetry, with literature, with poets, with writers. And it is a source of pride to continue in this line after so many years.

What is the history of your commerce?

Our shop in the street Isaac Peral has been open since 1968, and from the early days it has specialised in literature and humanities, with special attention to classical Greek and Roman Philology, Spanish Philology, Linguistics, History of Literature, Poetry, Novels, History, Sociology and Politics, art, cinema and theatre. These are the general subjects in which we have worked, with different incursions into other specialities.

What is your professional experience?

I started in Visor from the very first day and continue there. I have the same experience of someone who has been working more than 50 years in the same trade.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

We had to close temporarily and the damage spread for several months. There was uncertainty afterwards of the effects that both the virus and closure could have. Fortunately in some way the habit of reading increased and the support of our neighbours has been fundamental.
