La Miringa
Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

La Miringa is a different place, it is a space in Chamberí, in the centre of Madrid, where you can find different, original, beautiful things that look good and with good prices. Most of the time unique because there is only one piece, the one you see.

La Miringa is clothes, accessories and a special treatment for each client.

We put together what we like making unique combinations for each client.

Most of what we sell comes from Italy although in every trip we make, Mexico, Portugal, Cambodia, London, France, Switzerland, Dubai, ..., we buy and gather in La Miringa unique things.

We also have pieces made by us, either in our workshop (dresses, blouses, trousers, jackets, ..., our own patterns that look great) or by our embroiderers: bags, brooches, headbands, ....

You can find all kinds of sizes: from small to over. We are convinced that being beautiful is not a matter of size.

What is the history of your commerce?

La Miringa began to become a reality in September 2011, on a family trip to Italy.

We did the first Pop Up in Madrid in October 2011, then in Bilbao, and then as if nothing happened, almost unintentionally, we repeated the Pop Up in Madrid and Bilbao until in October 2013 we opened in Covarrubias street, in a shop with large windows overlooking the street and entrance through the portal dedicated to selling the things we like, clothes and accessories that are different for a "I dont know what", something that makes them different. And that make our customers unique, that make them be remembered.

What is your professional experience?

After graduating in CCEE and EE at ICADE, I worked at Banco Santander after graduating; then at Grupo Hasa Huarte as head of investor relations and hotel management. In 1996, together with a group of investors, I started a telecommunications, prepaid cards and Voice over IP company. We grew to 40 people until we decided to close it in May 2011. In October of that same year, I did the first Pop Up with one of my sisters of what is now La Miringa.
My profile, which in appearance was 100% science, took a 360º turn in 2011 and the truth is that I feel very good in this professional facet!

How has covid 19 affected your business?

As a clothing retailer, we have had to close since 13 March 2020. Zero sales in these months.

What services and products does your business provide?

We sell womens clothes for everyday wear: office, weekend, at home, informal dinner, dinner at home, travel...
We also have clothing but we always try to make them very versatile, so that the customer can combine them with jeans, for example.
We are well known for our trousers: we have trousers from various suppliers, of various models and covering all sizes, from small to large.
The alterations of the clothes bought in La Miringa are free of charge for the customer.
We act as a personal shopper: we propose a "total look" and the client chooses what she wants to buy.
We go twice a year to Las Arenas (Bilbao) to attend to our customers there.
We hold charity Saldillos, usually twice a year.
We organise parallel activities such as cookery courses, visits to museums...
We dont have sales: there is always a corner with discounted garments, in addition to the charity sales.
We give styling advice to our customers.
