Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

To offer a unique and exclusive product with an unbeatable quality-price ratio. We work with the best fabrics on the market and produce limited units of each model, up to a maximum of 50 units. Our designs are characterised by the details of the tailoring and the craftsmanship behind each garment.

What is the history of your commerce?

We are a team of professionals with years of experience in the fashion industry who came together in mid-2019 to create your dream brand. We launch MAKSU in February 2020. Our focus on quality and detail is embodied in the design of our collections based on a combination of Italian fabrics, silks, luxury fibres and unique handmade pieces. Each model is produced in limited units to preserve its exclusivity and avoid overproduction.

We opened our first shop in the elegant Salamanca district of Madrid with a new experiential concept. A place where the creative team interacts with the customer, sharing trends and ideas. A welcoming experience from the moment you enter. A place to see, touch, learn about fabrics and how to take care of clothes. We are always ready to solve the needs and concerns of those who visit us. In addition, we have a dressmaker and pattern maker that allows us to adapt each garment to the customer's specifications whenever required.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

We launched the brand and opened the shop just two weeks before the quarantine by Covid-19. We consider ourselves lucky to have been able to open and see how well received we were as a newly created brand. Those two weeks helped us to maintain our hope and illusion, knowing that when things got better we would have a chance of getting ahead.

COVID has affected consumption a lot, not only in the strictest quarantine but also in each new wave. For example, the trend was good until Christmas 2021, with the new omicron variant forcing many families to pre-confine to spend Christmas together or directly by contagion. We also noticed the direct impact on sales with each restriction.

What services and products does your business provide?

We are a newly created women's fashion brand that makes exclusivity accessible. We pay special attention to detail, creating high quality designs and carefully selecting the best fabrics on the market. We are a brand that does not follow passing trends, we make timeless designs in very limited quantities with fair and transparent prices.

Our style is timeless, yet recognisable; cosmopolitan, with a light of its own and eclectic. We create sophisticated colour combinations and versatile silhouettes; that garment you can wear all day long: from morning coffee to evening cocktails after work.

Each garment has value, that's why we don't discount and we enjoy explaining to our customers the story behind the origin and use of each fabric; each pattern and each silhouette.

We believe that fashion is art and that style that lasts gives pleasure to the senses. And we believe, above all, that fashion should be the result of a sustainable and environmentally friendly process.
