When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

This is a beautiful neighbourhood antiquarian bookshop, located right in front of Cervantes tombstone in the centre of Madrid, which has survived despite gentrification and is now in its third generation of booksellers.

What is the history of your commerce?

The bookshop was founded in 1949 by Miguel Miranda Vicente with books from his own collection, as he was an avid reader. At first he combined his work as an actor in the theatre with his work as a bookseller, but it was not long before he devoted himself entirely to the latter, as it was his true passion.

What is your professional experience?

After some salaried jobs, I started helping my father until the most obvious choice was to continue the family business, where I also brought an important added value by adapting to new technologies.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

Fortunately, we have a well-established online sales infrastructure that has kept the business going despite the coronavirus crisis, although visits to the shop are of course missed.

What services and products does your business provide?

We offer everything from bargain books and tabletop items for casual visitors to antiquarian books and first editions for bibliophiles or as gifts, as well as a wide range of out-of-print books.
