Interview to the commerce

When you think about your business, what are you most proud of?

We love art and culture although it is a very hard sector, you have to live it to understand it, we work on many wonderful projects that often do not go ahead or do not work, it is a sector in which the formula does not work, if the project is good and you work hard, it will work out well. But when it works, when an artist has been working for months on an exhibition or a fair and people like it and it sells, or when an author has a queue to sign books at a presentation or you simply see that people enjoy a recital or a play... these kinds of things give meaning to all the hours of work and effort and thats what fills us with pride.

What is the history of your commerce?

Modus Operandi is a cultural management company that brings together a large part of the creative activity: art gallery, publishing house, audiovisual and theatre production company. We present ourselves as a platform for creation in permanent development, which aims to support and disseminate initiatives that need a vehicle to channel them, with the firm intention of recovering the idea of "a living space for experimentation of the senses" that the sculptor Alberto Sánchez already defended.

What is your professional experience?

Obviously the culture sector is a tough sector in itself, but it is also very rewarding. Supporting creation and creativity is fundamental, gallery owners collaborate in the dissemination and promotion of art and artists, we are an agent of the cultural sector that adds up, and galleries are also a meeting place and a place for dialogue where synergies are created. This is a very beautiful profession in which you are always motivated, every project, every exhibition, opening, every fair, every discovery of a new artist, every visit to a workshop... everything excites.

How has covid 19 affected your business?

We are a business that depends a lot on the social element, we depend on people being able to visit our premises, so the pandemic has caused a big stoppage from which we have not been able to recover.

Interview to the commerce

What services and products does your business provide?

We are an exhibition space, where every 6 weeks we change exhibitions, as well as always having a small selection of works on permanent display. On the other hand we do book presentations, poetry recitals and theatre, we are a very lively space where things are always happening!
