The Pérez Villaamil house, at Plaza de Matute, 12, is one of the few examples of modernist architecture in the capital. It was built between 1906 and 1906. It was commissioned by the engineer Enrique Pérez Villaamil, grandson of the great painter Jerónimo Pérez Villaamil. The architectural design was by Eduardo Reynals y Toledo. All the floors are inhabited, which is why only the façade can be admired. Depending on the lighting, the extraordinary decoration of the portal can also be seen from the street.
Since June 2013 it has been listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest.
